When two of the best local bands come together for a dual CD release party, you'd better pencil it in. Moments like this don't happen that often. Brighton, MA. has matured quickly in their short time as a band, putting out well crafted songs chalked full of memorable poetics. Their sophomore release Amateur Lovers swings across the pendulum of indie rocks moods. (note - Sunday night BMA will be in Rock Island to record a session for Daytrotter) Catfish Haven is a throwback of sorts. Part Sixties folk rock and part Seventies arena, Catfish Haven's latest, Devastator explains the sound path within the title. Catch the double dip release show at the Metro on Saturday with the Record Low, Rego and DJ Darren from the Changes. This is an XRT show with cheap tix available, so jump on it while they last.
