Do you got it 'Going" on?
Moe. has been working hard in the music biz for more than 15 years now, putting on consistent, quality live shows and putting out well-produced, catchy albums. Their jam band sound mixes in rock, alternative and Americana with a dash of humor, and seeing moe. live is a delight. Their shows are freewheeling, intense performances leaving fans gasping for more. Bring earplugs, because they usually play pretty loud, too. Tonight at the Riv.
Todd Rundgren may be best known for his soothing pop hits of the 70’s, but his scope of work in music and new media makes him one of pop culture’s unsung Renaissance men. Beyond his top 40 hits, Rundgren has produced albums like Meat Loaf’s Bat Out of Hell and works for groups like Psychedelic Furs, New York Dolls, Hall & Oates and The Band. He was one of the first musicians to distribute his sound via the Internet, did the music for Pee Wee’s Playhouse and raised Liv Tyler. He might even crack a few jokes on stage. (What doesn’t this guy do?) Sorry show's sold out at the Parkwest.
Seeing highly touted French/English new wave rockers The Teenagers will be worth the trip to Sonotheque (Sat.) alone. And while the music is the draw, apparently so is photography. Four nightlife camera whizs are scheduled to snap away as the resident DJs of Dark Wave Disco -- Trancid, Mark Gertz and Greg Corner -- get busy on the decks. There are also a load of sponsers and hosts listed for the party, including 312, Avant Thrill and Svedka, so get there early because the place will probably sell out.
