Thoughts On New Albums
Dredg, The Pariah, the Parrot, the Delusion - Name sounds pretty hard but this sometimes experimental rock group, plays it really safe on this album. The instrumentation is very driving, but the lyrics remind of Plain White T's or Taking Back Sunday. 81
The Legends, Over and Over, - This is an easy to listen to album ala Air's Moon Safari. Sort of a post-electronica sound with many influences. Fuzzy, synthy and slightly detached. Perfect for a late night chill out or rainy afternoon. 89
Freeland, Cope - One of the most creative DJs of the last 15 years, Freeland's latest is diverse, spirited and silky. Mixing live instrumentation with dance floor beats, you'll dig Freeland if you like LCD Soundsystem or LTJ Bukem. Bad a** cover of David Essex's Rock On. 87
Datarok, Red -The electro duos Retrofuturism is on point in this album. A mix of styles and concepts, leaves the work as a whole memorable, but no track jumps out. 86
