You always hear Chicago creatives talk about how they had to leave Chicago to get any sort of respect from the local arts media. This may be the case for Daniel Knox.  A favorite of David Lynch, named by Timeout London as one of their top 10 artists to watch in '09 and a guest vocalist on Jarvis Cocker's latest album and guess what, nary a word from the Chicago media. In fact as local music writers were predictably fawning all over Cocker's Further Complications, none of them mentioned Knox's backing vocals. C'est La Vie.
