Well it's really not that VW is some sort of revolutionary force, it's just that ability of bands to put themselves in front of people like never before with a more come-as-you-are feel. Look at Kayne or Fiest? The web is so free and inclusive as well as wide reaching that the old labels and models of music are of course falling away. As we move on into the next phases of entertainment and categorizations, who knows what will transpire, but Vampire Weekend's will be popping up more and more as bands and labels figure out how to use the mighty and massive internet promo monster.
